Who am I?

I am a 27-year-old British creative who focuses mainly on poetry | music | photography
but I tend to dabble in all sorts of hobbies. At the moment I've been doing some wood whittling and plan to start making my own silver jewerly once I have the time! For the last four years I was living in London but have recently moved back home to South West England. It's been quite a change but it's allowed me to reconnect with another of my passions in life - nature! I've been doing a lot more hiking and camping over the summer and it has calmed my soul.

My creative work is all about interacting with my sub-concious, I have a great trust in my unknown self and try to work quickly in a stream of conciousness method. I incorporate little to no editing in my work so that I can encapsulate a single moment in time. I believe that the space around you has an important hand in shaping one's creative work and even the smallest fragment has an influence in the mind.

The thing I love about our humanity is that even though we know we will never be able to be fully understood by another person - we can explain and express our emotions as much as we want and never truly communicate every intricacy of that feeling - yet we never stop trying.

What is web-revival?

Considering the amount of time that we spend online, we begin to think about how to make the most of each second we engage with the information superhighway. The growing worry is that as society fundamentally forms addiction to the digital space, we become relient on big tech companies to tell us how to comminicate with one another and how we should be absorbing information. That isn't to say social platforms are bad, but they become extremely uniform - lacking individuality and creativity - when it comes to how we present our identities on the web.

Web-revival is an online movement which seeks to bring back the individuality of the old web, focusing on creating spaces which are unique, creative and fostering community. For the indieweb enthusiast, every element and every line of code is written and owned by its creator and serves as a refuge for whatever weird and wonderful creations one can imagine.

There are a myriad of tools and resources avaliable to get started on making your own web-revival website, from guides to gifs to background images, there are so many individuals putting their time into making the web fun and accessible for everyone. I have taken inspiration and used tools created by many in the community to create my website and you can too!
